Iranian ‘The Recess’ is to compete in Italy

Iranian short ‘The Recess’ is to compete at the Tracce Cinematografiche Film Fest in Italy.

Iranian short flick ‘The Recess’ has been selected to compete at the 11th edition of the Tracce Cinematografiche Film Fest in Italy.

Written, produced, and directed by Navid Nikkhah-Azad, ‘The Recess’ is a 12-minute film that tells the story of a 17-year-old schoolgirl who runs away from school to watch the football match of her favorite club.

The short flick’s cast list includes Mojan Kordi, Reyhaneh Nabeean, Niloufar Shokouhinia, and Ghazal Khalili.

‘The Recess’ has participated in more than 75 international festivals, including the Visioni Corte International Film Festival in Italy, the Sanfrancisco Frozan Film Festival in the US, the Johns Hopkins Film Festival in the US, the River International Film Festival in Italy, and the Vox Feminae Festival in Croatia.

Nikkhah-Azad’s flick has previously grabbed the best short film award at the Johns Hopkins Film Festival and the best short film award at the Oxford Film Festival in the US.

The Tracce Cinematografiche Film Fest hosts films from around the world and screens short films up to 16 minutes.

The 2022 edition of the event will be held on June 27-July 3.
